Q. Do I have to pay a realtor to represent me as a customer?
A. Realtors® generally make their money in commissions. Therefore sellers generally pay the Realtor®.. The only exception would be if a buyer agrees to pay an agent. This generally happens when a buyer finds a house that is for sale by owner.
Q. How do I know what lender, inspector, attorney to use?
A. Our agents are happy to provide a list of vendors we have worked with in the past. As with any recommendation you should do your own research and compare services. Talking with family and friends is a great way to learn of reputable service providers in your area.
Q. How long does it take to buy a home?
A. Once you find the home of your dreams it usually takes around 30-45 days to close. There are cases where you can close sooner. For example, if you are paying cash you can close as soon as 10 days. However, loans tend to take 30 days and some loans can take up to 60 days if there are title issues, repairs, or other seller buyer liens that the lender needs cleared up.
